Fitting Room Review: Marimekko x Uniqlo
When I heard that Marimekko was collaborating with Uniqlo, I got excited. These are two brands I love — together!

In my last post, I mentioned I made it out of the Everlane flagship store in San Francisco with an item. That one item is the Soft Cotton Boatneck Sweater and I’m happy to report that I’m in love with it.
When Everlane first started, its founder swore that he would never open brick-and-mortar stores. As the brand has evolved, he changed his mind — and I’m glad for it. I’m one of those customers who prefers shopping in an actual store. Everlane’s second location, in San Francisco, just opened on March 3.
After having my wallet stolen, I was in the market for a new one. I admired a friend’s minimalist Comme des Garçons zip wallet but didn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on one. So I decided to look at wallets with similar designs by Baggu, Cuyana, and Everlane — all brands with ethical production. Here’s a comparison of what I found.
Last weekend when I was at Target, I only had time to try on one pair of jeans from their new denim line, Universal Thread. But that didn’t satiate my curiosity. So I went back and tried on their $24.99 high-rise skinny jeans, which comes in three washes: dark wash, medium wash, and black.
Target has rolled out another new brand called Universal Thread. It’s an ambitious attempt to tackle denim, with a wide range of sizes and styles to flatter different body shapes. Target describes the brand as “do-good denim,” but is it?
Today I’m reviewing the Everlane Italian GoWeave Easy Pant. What is GoWeave, you ask? It’s a magical fabric that Everlane claims doesn’t wrinkle, keeps its shape, and regulates your temperature.
When Everlane released its Day Heel back in April, it was so popular that it sold out in a day, generating a long wait list. People rave about it, and as I am always searching for a comfortable, chic shoe, I tried them on recently.
In my review of coats and jackets from Target, one of my favorites that I tried on was a faux fur leopard print coat. However, it ran big and I couldn’t stop thinking about how it might look in the right size, so I ordered it and well, here we are. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to think of leopard print as more of a neutral.
Today’s post is a review about a coat, but also about conflicted feelings. One place that I’ve enjoyed shopping is Club Monaco. I like their minimalist aesthetic (though they definitely get into frilly, feminine moods too.) Club Monaco feels a bit less fast fashion and trendy than other brands — at least that’s my perception of them — and I like that.
