I’m a sucker for coats and jackets, and the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is a good time to shop for one. (It’s also a great time for shoes — I had a few picks in part 1 of my Anniversary Sale roundup.)

How cute is this plaid number full of fall vibes?
This one below looks super cozy. Both the plaid one and the asymmetrical one are by Halogen, a Nordstrom brand. I love Halogen not only for the style, but because most of their clothing comes in petite versions too. Getting coat sleeves hemmed is not a cheap proposition, so I am grateful for that.
If you’re looking for a leather jacket, there are so many options, both faux and real. Here’s one by Halogen. I was excited to see this because I knew from prior years that the leather they use is superbly soft. This one was no exception. Love the thin and soft leather.
Unfortunately, the cut was too boxy on me. I’m wearing a Petite XS here. (I’m a dress size 4 for reference.)
This one by Trouve looked better on me, and the leather was even thinner and softer. For a leather jacket, it’s pretty lightweight.
The sleeves are combination leather and fabric, which means it’s a snug fit in the arms. It also comes in a cognac color which I’m modeling it below in XS. The brown color lends it a ’70s vibe. Even though this is regular sizing, the sleeve length worked well on petite me; I think that’s because the leather is so thin and I could scrunch it up at the elbows. I ended up taking this one home in black.
Another Trouve leather jacket. Hard to tell from this photo, but there’s fringe all along the arm and across the back. If you’re looking for a dramatic look, this is it.
Trouve Fringe Moto Leather Jacket, $219.90 (regularly $329)
Topshop had some real leather jackets, but I didn’t even try them on because they’re quite thick and heavy. I also knew from experience that this brand is too long for my petite limbs. With the zippers on the sleeves, this would probably be impossible to alter.
Lots of faux leather moto versions from BLANKNYC. I thought the “leather” on this one felt kinda cheap. I do like the gold hardware instead of silver though. Gives it a luxe look. There’s also a metallic version which seems more cropped in the body.
This one is an unexpected combo of boho and tough biker.
BLANKNYC also makes a real suede moto jacket that comes in three colors.
There’s still more that I didn’t see:
Levi’s Faux Leather Moto Jacket ($89.90, regularly $150)
Treasure & Bond Leather Moto Jacket ($219.90 regularly $329)
CHELSEA28 Print Faux Leather Jacket ($132.90, regularly $199)
Leith Suede Moto Jacket, in a light nuetral color ($198.90, regularly $298)
Via Spiga Mixed Media Leather Moto Jacket ($249.90, regularly $398) Comes in petite, and is bomber-esque because it was a band at the bottom.
Anyhow, if you’re in the market for a jacket or coat, I recommend you check this sale out. Early access for card holders is now through July 20th. The sale opens for everyone else July 21 and ends August 6th. Happy shopping!
